Boating with SSYC
Go Boating with Us
Ready for some fun on the water?
SSYC boat owners (our skippers) regularly host boat trips for our members who want to be on the water but don’t own a boat.
From fishing to sailing, and raftups to weekend getaways, we offer plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy the beautiful waters around Seattle and beyond, making friends along the way.
Reciprocal MoorageAs a member of the SSYC (not available for casual members), you are eligible for reciprocal mooring privileges. If you are doing several out of town dock stays a year, these reciprocal privileges could add up to savings that more than pay for your annual membership dues.
Meet Our Skippers
At our weekly meetings, our skippers will announce boat trips for you to sign up for.
All you need to bring to the boat trip is food to share, the beverage of your choice and a smile!
Our skippers are experienced boaters who love to share their expertise.
Our Basic Sailing Course provides a good introduction to sailing, especially for those who’ve never been on a sailboat or have minimal experience.
Plus, it’s a great opportunity to get out on the water on a sailboat!
The course is open to both members and non-members.
The Dock Zero Happy Hour during the Seattle Yacht Club’s Opening day weekend brings out hundreds of boaters.
The SSYC-sponsored Happy Hour is very popular as members provide appetizers as well as beverages for everyone who stops by our dock space.
Officers dress in nautical attire and other members decorate their boats and themselves for the boat parade.
This event is open to all annual member categories but not casual members.
