2025 GooseBumps Series Notice of Race
Goosebumps is a “Just for fun” event – no handicap scoring. We provide a R/C boat, course, flags, horns and will post results on the SeattleSinglesYC.com Goosebumps page and the Goosebumps Facebook page. No protests will be heard or accepted. Check-in is by voice at the committee boat.
Be aware that there are float planes, commercial and recreational boat traffic, inexperienced mariners (kayaks, paddle boards, hot tubs, etc.), and marked and unmarked hazards. Each skipper is responsible for their boat, for obeying the navigational rules (COLREGS) and having a working VHF radio.
Monitor Radio Channel 69:
If you jump the gun the penalty will be to re-start. We will announce the jumpers on Channel 69. If you don’t restart, you will be disqualified. Hit the committee boat, you are disqualified.
Navigation:
Starboard tack has right of way over port tack. Port tack steers clear.
Leeward has the right of way over windward. Windward steers clear.
Overtaking boat steers clear.
Avoid collisions at all costs.
Each Race is a Stand-Alone Race but there will be Overall Winners announced at the end of the series.
There Will be Two Starts each Week, 1st Start - Fast Boats (Self Determined) and 2nd Start -All Others. All finishes will be recorded. Goosebumps stickers will be awarded weekly to the top three finishers in both starts: (Blue, Red and Yellow). Come by the Committee Boat after the race to pick up your winning sticker.
