As we enter into this election cycle and grapple with some important decisions, the board has done an amazing amount of work to educate the membership about SSYC bylaws and requirements for our 501c7 compliance.  In particular our parliamentarian, Ann MacFarlane of Jurassic Parliament talk a class that included 16 SSYC members.  If you missed it you missed some good stuff.  If you have a bit of time, tune in and see what Ann had to say. As the world navigates the ins and outs of Covid life there is some good news.  Dancing is back on.  Ron Bolin has sent us the latest update and his website has the calendar and information necessary to create your dancing schedule.

    Dear Dancin' Friends,

The Seahawks successfully kicked off their 2021 - 2022 season with a win on Sunday! DJ MARGARET Twill safely kick off the fall season of her new variety dance called THE DANCE ZONE this Saturday. She had a successful pre-season event in July, and now will hold this dance at the Bothell Sons of Norway on the third Saturday of each month. There's a large wooden floor with three large ceiling fans, plus there are plenty of windows and doors that open for air flow ... almost like being outside!

WREN & SCOT kicked off their new West Coast Swing classes at the Phinney Neighborhood Center last night. If you missed it, you can still join next week and they'll catch you up. Also mark your calendars for their new WEDNESDAY WEST COAST SWING DANCE starting October 6 on Mercer Island.

DJ ZACHARIAH continues with WALTZ ETCETERA every Monday in Ballard at the Sunset Hill Community Club. He plays Waltzes of a wide range of tempos and styles plus a mix of Swing, Blues, Nightclub Two-Step, Foxtrot, and Latin dances with the occasional surprise

Our annual trip to Mystery Bay and Port Ludlow started out wonderfully at Mystery Bay, with a bit of pre-functioing in Pt. Townsend.  Two newer members, John Mc. and Marcie K. came out with their gorgeous boats and full SSYC crews to join other members for quite an amazing weekend.   All in all roughly fifteen folks joined in the raft up at Mystery Bay.  The Commodore and Past Commodore were unable to attend the Port Ludlow section of the trip but we have heard great things.  Boat on!
