This year's theme for Daffy Fest was Hope Rises. Bunny was the SSYC representative at Tacoma's Daffodil Festival. She and her team took Starlight all the way to Tacoma for a whirlwind weekend of traveling and decorating. The team wanted to celebrate species that made it off the endangered species list, giving hope for the future. It's important to celebrate things that improve in the world that we don't necessarily hear about in the news!
Thank you to Bunny and the Starlight team for representing us at Daffy Fest!

Congratulations to SURT for 1st Place in Seattle's Opening Day!
This year's Opening Day theme was Roaring 20's. It turns out lovable Mickey Mouse got his start as Steamboat Willie in the 1920's. The SURT team worked hard to choose and bring to life their Steamboat Willie theme. Many adorable Mickeys and Minnies adorned the boat with the iconic mouse ears and polka dot shorts and skirts. Steamboat Willie's archnemesis Peg-leg Pete was onboard and up to no good but he couldn't stop a win for Mickey and the SURT team.
Thank you to Mike and Kris and the entire SURT team for a job well done!

As we enter into this election cycle and grapple with some important decisions, the board has done an amazing amount of work to educate the membership about SSYC bylaws and requirements for our 501c7 compliance. In particular our parliamentarian, Ann MacFarlane of Jurassic Parliament talk a class that included 16 SSYC members. If you missed it you missed some good stuff. If you have a bit of time, tune in and see what Ann had to say. CLASS RECORDING
