Congratulations are certainly in order to our own Robin Cole, who along with the support of her team, Bunny Alexandroni, won the Goosebumps Cookie Bake Off, this year.  Kari Ingalls has valiantly made ALL of the cookies for Goosebumps (with some help from her SSYC friends) in the recent past.  This year we had five amazing teams of cookie bakers that baked for each of the five (one canceled due to snow) races.  The ladies of SSYC outdid themselves yet again.  BUT in an impromptu, not guaranteed, undocumented, survey, Robin’s brownies were proven to be the favorite among the Goosebumps racers.  Just like a lot of the Goosebumps races, this one was almost too close to call. Congratulations Robin, for stepping up and kickin ars! Robin was awarded the cutest apron ever with a great goose motif.  She also received a handy Tupperware container for her next batch!  Bake on!

Wow, Opening Day 2021 is almost upon us.  Always the first Saturday in May, this year we will be celebrating Opening Day of Boating virtually and on the water.

Seattle Yacht Club has prepared an amazing opportunity for yacht clubs to showcase their clubs via a video as part of a SYC Opening Day Virtual Parade but will not be having a live parade or Dock Zero event.

We have quite a photo archive built up now for SSYC but wanted to make another call for all members to please download your SSYC photos, of all kinds, old and new, and VIDEOS as well, to the SSYC File Cabinet.

Any question please contact the Commodore or Past Commodore.  For more about this and other activities be sure to tune in to Monday meetings to get the latest news and updates.

Help pick the “Best Goosebumps Cookie of the 2021 Race Series”.  This year we shook things up a bit and tried to up our cookie game.  We had five different groups make different cookies for each race.  It’s a bit on the casual side but its time to weigh in on your favorite Goosebump Cookie.  Head to the Goosebumps Facebook site and put your opinion in the comments under the Golden Goose Award.

Goosebumps racers have had to wait an entire extra week to "get their race on" as the Seattle weather led to cancellation of the February 14th race - the fifth in the series.  This Sunday, February 21st, we finish off the Goosebumps 2021 Race Series, welcome back Maestrale to the race, and follow up with a Zoom presentation of all winners.  Good Luck Racers!!!!! Thank you Roger Drill for finishing off the series as our favorite (non-anchor dragging) committee boat/skipper!

Another Goosebumps Race for the record books.  Lots of exciting wind and weather on the water today as well as some drama.  Necessary Evil ran aground at Gasworks Park while the committee boat drug anchor half way across the lake. We welcomed several new boats in this fourth round as well.  Our own Elly Cyre was out on her new boat with her daughter, the co-owner.  They ended after the first lap with some wheel issues.  This was a really fun one.

Today the CYC clubhouse made the voyage home from shipyard work.  There is still work to be done on the interior and that will begin very soon.  Congratulations CYC, quite the accomplishment.

It was a wet one this Sunday but what fun!  Goosebumps racers came out in great form and fortunately no collisions or drama, other than a lot of beautiful boats crossing the finish line. Our own Commodore was running the committee boat this Sunday and the 1958 Chris Craft - Stella, did a great job along with an amazing race committee.  Thank you Dan Kerns, Chris K, Robin C, and Tom Mc.  Troopers all!
